The week ahead

The Supreme Court judge - Sonia Sotomayor should rule in favor of the white firefighters to receive promotion, as we should not hold them accountable for the blacks not testing well for consideration. Under some circumstances they could not have received the some type of education growing up or for other numerous reasons. However, we should not hold them accountable. What if they show was on the other foot? Would we want them to hold us accountable for white firefighters not testing well for our consideration? It would be a racial debate if they occurred.

Bernard Madoff need to be sentenced as an example to others who responsible for the same crime.

How long will it take for Iraq security forces to be responsible for their own country? I know we are the United States however we could cut back on cost of the war, were would could be putting those funds towards a good cause in our own counrty.

More Money, more problems

Should we allow the supreme courts to dictate to state governors "request federal money" to assistant with Unemployment Benefits? I think that all governors in the United States should request for federal aid, even if their state unemployment rate is down or feel as if they don't need it. Unfortunately, some governors haven’t had the opportunity to experience hard times during a recession. Some governors come from wealthy families, as other’s are born into money. We should not allow them to determine the well being for our families, as some individuals have been out of work for over a year. It’s not that they don’t want to work or aren’t seeking employments it’s just the field or expertise is not hiring. Other businesses that are hiring are seeking individuals with experience.

Death of a Showman

Why can't we remember people for the good? Michael Jackson died at the age 50, it's a verily young age but it's not unbelievable to die from a heart attack. In today's society we thrive off of celebrities, their elaborate life style and the negative things. What about the good that Michael Jackson did for world? This man made hit songs to bring about peace in the world and took music videos to another level after "Thriller". Society hasn't always agreed nor being supportive of Michael's actions do we really have to put them on blast in the media for his children to read about or see in the newspaper? Everyone is human and make mistakes. However, does that give the media the right to blast Michael Jackson for his children to read or see about in the media during their time of grievance?

Staying on Board

During a recession it's very hard to decide if you should allow your children education to suffer. In today's economy parents have to make tough decision as some private school are merging together, some are closing and other are raising tuition fees. In the United States studies show that children attending private schools are at an all time advantage of moving up within status and that they separate school and church. Why does America separate the two? I think that we as Americans should put church and school back together and teach our children the beliefs that we follow today in life. If we were to take this path I do not believe we would have as much turmoil as we do today in our school systems. Kids would be taught how to respect one another, learn the principles of life along with receiving an education that they need.

I would like for all of my kids to attend private school, so I am making the sacrifice today in order for them to receive a higher education and to better opportunities then I had coming up.
